    James Gordon Bisset (bookseller - retired) - widower of Margaret Mcpherson Fiddes - died 12th February 1947 at 8:40pm at Crynoch, Bieldside, East Peterculter - male - aged 93 years - son of David Bisset (farmer - deceased) and Jane Bisset (ms Silver - deceased). Cause of death was acute bronchial pneumonia and cardiac failure. Informant of death was William Ferguson MB (son in law) residing at 66 Hawksley Avenue, Chesterfield.

    Death of Mr J.G.Bisset, bookseller
    Known to generation of Aberdeen University students, Mr James G.Bisset, bookseller, who resided at Crynoch, Bieldside, has died.
    Mr Bisset, who conducted the well-known Aberdeen business of Bisset's Bookshop, 85 Broad Street, was ninety-three* years of age.
    He retired two years ago, after completing sixty-five years in the business.
    A native of Maryculter, Mr Bisset made his business his great hobby in life, and he spared no efforts in meeting the needs of his customers.
    Despite his years, Mr Bisset was a remarkably fit man, and it was only a fortnight ago that he became ill.
    Predeceased by his wife some years ago, he is survived by a marriage daughter, Mrs H.R.Ferguson, who resides in Chesterfield.
    Mr Bisset was precentor for many years in Cults East Church, of which he was senior elder.
    *His birth record shows he was born November 1854 which means he would have only been 92.
