SUDDEN DEATH.-In the midst of a large assembly of friends the remains of the late Mrs. Matilda Nunn, of 105, York Road, were laid rest in the Cemetery yesterday (Thursday) afternoon. Mrs. Nunn, who was the widow of Mr John Nunn, had for a number of years been an earnest member of the Bury St Edmund's corps of the Salvation Army, and had a wide circle of friends, who not only loved her for bright and happy disposition but for her willingness to lend a helping hand to those in need of assistance. Her death came as a great shock, for she passed away suddenly early on Saturday morning at the age of 61 years. Much sympathy is felt for her bereaved daughters and son. The funeral cortege was preceded to the cemetery by the band of the local Salvation Army Corps, and there was also a detachment of members in uniform. The service was conducted by Captain Nellie Sharpe, prayers being said by Bandsman Mitchell, with a brief address by Sister Pryke.
The hymns "For ever with the Lord," "Rock of Ages,? and Jesus will the there," were feelingly sung round the graveside. The mourners included the Misses Daisy and Nellie Nunn and Mrs. Harris (daughters), Mr Percy Percy Nunn (son), Mrs Willie Nunn (daughter-in-law), Mr Harris (son-in-law), and Mrs Percy Nunn (daughter-in-law). The floral tributes were: "In loving remembrance of our darling and devoted mother; from her loving sons and daughters"; Walter and Louie, 3, Mount Road; Bessie and little Willie; Mrs. Boreham; Edith and Willie; Mr and Mrs Shearing; Mr and Mrs Pryke, Gladys and Eva; E.M.Dunn and family; Mr and Mrs Ely; Mrs A.Hind; Aggie and George; Mr and Mrs C.Jarvis and Bessie, Braintree.
