- The funeral service of Kenneth Drackett-Case was held at the West Suffolk Crematorium in Bury St Edmunds on August 15.
Born in Stetchworth, Mr Drackett-Case lived in Ashley Road in Newmarket and was 85 when he died at home on August 4.
He was educated in Stetchworth, All Saints School, Newmarket and Newmarket Grammar School and worked in garden maintenance, looking after the grounds of several colleges in Cambridge. He also made and sold garden furniture and worked as an office manager.
During the war years, he was called up at 18 and joined the Parachute Regiment serving in Palestine.
He enjoyed watching speedway and rugby on television, gardening and doing tapestries.
He leaves two daughters Anne and Vicki, two grandchildren and two great grandchildren.
