17363 | Possibly becomes known as Josephine Silver by 1901 as indicated by family census entry and no known record for a Josephine Silver born abt 1890. However, we have Mina on 1891 census with her mother along with statement about her paternity on the birth cert and the seeming estrangement between Jane and her husband. They then appear to reunite between 1891 and 1901 and have another child (Jessie) in 1896. In 1903, Alex Silver faced court over not ensuring his adopted daughter Josephine Silver went to school. CONCLUSION: Mina and Josephine are the same person. As well, she marries in 1908 as Mina Silver to a Robert Adams and wedding cert gives Alex and Jane as her parents. Carol McIntyre's information on Mina is: Williamina Jardine Duthie Silver: Birth 25 Apr 1890 in 41 Netherkirkgate, Aberdeen, Scotland Death 17 Apr 1958 in Aberdeen, Aberdeen, Scotland married Robert Adams 1886-1939 children: Charlotte Cruickshank Adams 1908-1982, Robert Adams 1911-1917, Jane Campbell Adams 1912-1912, George Riddoch Adams 1913-1914, Catherine Adams 1915-1915, Margaret "Peggy" Forbes Adams 1919- 1993, Annie Victoria Hartley Adams 1921-1973, Helen Adams 1923-1923, James Adams 1923-1923 | SILVER, Mina Jardine Duthie CAMPBELL or (I8033)
