Funeral of Mr. E.Nunn.- Amid manifestations of respect and sympathy, the funeral took place on Thursday last of Mr. Edward Nunn. The first portion of the service was held in the Primitive Methodist Chapel, where a large congregation assembled. Among those present were Mr and Mrs. D.Smith (Chevington Hall), Mr and Mrs. B.Morley (Hargrave Hall), Miss Bradfield (Hargrave), Mrs. Softley (Newmarket), Mrs. Scourheld (Saxham), Mrs. A.Pettitt (Hargrave). Mrs S.Smith, Mrs. G.Norman, Mrs. M.Cross, Mrs. A.King, Mrs. G.Nunn, Mrs. A.Arbon, Mrs. A.Last, Mrs. Rue, and others. The service was conducted by the Rev. W.G.Softley, of Newmarket, who also officiated at the graveside. The chief mourners were Mrs. Nunn (widow), Mr G.Nunn (son), Mrs. Clarke (daughter), Mrs. G.Nunn (daughter-in-law), Mr Clarke (son-in-law), Miss E.Clarke (granddaughter), Mr Peter Death and Mr. Oliver Death (step-sons), Mr and Mrs. S.Eppy (brother-in-law and sister-in-law) and Mrs Copping. During the service, the hymn "Rock of Ages, cleft for me," was sung and, at the conclusion, as the mourners left the chapel, suitable music was rendered, Mrs Stanford being at the organ. At the graveside a number had gathered, including Mr. C.Bowers (representing the West Suffolk Friendly Society), Mrs. F.E.Clarke, Mr. Dyson, Mr. and Mrs. S.Pettit, Mrs. G.Arbon, Mrs. D.Sangster, Mrs. A.Newman, Mrs. Alfred Newman and several others. The breastplate was inscribed, "Edward Nunn, died 7th January, 1928, aged 74 years." The choice floral tributes bore the following inscriptions: To dear Ted, with out everlasting love and sweet memories, from his faithful wife and the boys. In loving memory of dear dad, from George and Lizzie. To my dear father, from his sorrowing Lily, Dick and Ellen. From his loving sister Susannah. In loving memory of a dear old friend, from Francis and Sam. In loving memory, from the friends of Chevington Chapel. With deep regret, from Mr. and Mrs. W.Barnard (Bury St. Edmund's).
