Family and friends are invited to attend Joan?s funeral service to be held at 2.00 p.m. Wednesday 16th October 2019 in the Uniting Church, corner Glebe Road and Eileen Street, Booval, with afternoon tea to follow in the Church Hall. RECENT WEDDINGS HARKINS--NUNN.-At All Saints' Church of England, Booval. Rev. J. P. Tomlinson officiated at the marriage of Joan, second youngest daughter of Mr. E. Harkins and the late Mrs. Harkins, Ipswich. and Erlc William, only son of Mr. and Mrs. E. R. Nunn, Booval. Mrs. Gibson played the "Bridal March" as the bride entered the church with her brother. She wore a white satin frock, featuring lace yoke, and softly draped full train. She wore a long tulle veil held in place with a halo of forget-me-nots, and a string of pearls. For "something old" she carried a handkerchief loaned by an aunt of the groom. The bride carried a bouquet of white gladioli roses, and stephanotis. Miss Angela Dolan and Miss Reta Nunn, sister of the groom, attended as bridesmaids. They wore blue and pink all-over lace over taffeta respectively. Each wore a short embroidered tulle veil, held in place by pleated tulle halo, and blue and pink flowers. They carried bouquets of pink gladioli, and touches of blue. They both wore blue and pink pendants, gifts from the groom. The bridegroom was attended by Mr. Robert Thomas, cousin of the groom, and Mr. Leo Hartfiel, brother-in-law of the bride. During the signing of the register Miss Sylvia Black, cousin of the groom, sang "Because." As the bride was leaving the church she was presented with two horseshoes by Beryl Thomas and little Mary Black. The reception was held in the Parish Hall, where 80 guests were entertained by Mrs. R. S. Christison, who received the guests. She wore a green crepe frock and black accessories, and a shoulder spray of daffodils. She was assisted by Mrs. E. R. Nunn, who wore a frock of teal blue moss crepe, with black accessories, and a shoulder spray of carnations to tone. Mr. Tomlinson presided. The two-tiered wedding cake was made and iced by the groom's cousin, Mrs. H. Daley. Mr. Bill Harkins sang "Rose of Tralee," and Mr.Eric Nunn, sen., played "My Happiness" on a leaf. Miss Sylvia Black sang "Perfect Day." On leaving for the honeymoon, which is being spent on the South Coast, the bride wore a London tan frock featuring cut work yoke, and wore London tan and white accessories.
