Her presumed father is Alexander Silver, of Harvieston Farm, Kinneff. He died four months after her birth. This is confirmed by DNA tests on common descendants from Alexander Silver's parents and Jessie Silver Fenton's descendants.
Jessie and her mother Jessie Brooks Fenton immigrated to Canada in 1911 on the vessel Hesperian from Glasgow, to Montreal, Quebec, Canada. From there, they travelled to Alberta, Canada. Jessie Brooks Fenton married a man named Hugh Cameron.

GERMUNDSON, Janet Silver (nee Cameron*) Passed away peacefully in her sleep on Wednesday, March 9, 2005. Janet was born April 14, 1907 in Aberdean#, Scotland. She taught school in Crowsnest Pass, Rochester and Edmonton areas of Alberta from 1930's to 1972. Predeceased by her husband Jack Germundson (December 1961). Survived by her sons Allan of Ottawa, Ontario and Ken of Sudbury, Ontario and also her six grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren. Will be missed by many friends in the Edmonton and Rochester areas of Alberta, as well as Harmer House in Nepean, West End Villa in Ottawa, Brookside Manor and Forest Hill in Kanata. Family will receive friends on Saturday, March 12, 2005 from noon until the time of the Memorial Service at 1 p.m. in the Pinecrest Remembrance Chapel (2500 Baseline Rd., Ottawa). A time of fellowship will follow in the Pinecrest Reception Centre.
