65 From his military service record he received his notice to serve on 23 April at Woolwich. His home address was 3 Pinnock Terrace, Notley Street, Camberwell : his occupation Rag Sorter (actually he was self employed as a costermonger ). Arthur served in France, with the 7 British Expeditionary force as a Rifleman. Was wounded in the right shoulder and foot and returned to England 14 April 1917. Later was posted to 6 Labour Corps as a Private to 6 Reserve Battalion, and discharged 29 March 1918, cause (No longer Physically Fit for War service). From his military medical file date 27 May 1917 ." Notice to Records officer in command Winchester Garrison." In a letter from Commanding Officer 3rd Scottish General hospital, Stobhill, Glasgow. " That Rifleman A Coker be reclassified by medical board to category to B3" . This seemed to be the actual reason for his discharge. The address on his discharge paper was 13 Bowyer Street.

71 Have yet to satisfactorily trace Harriet's family. She may have been born about 1848 and not 1850. There is a Harriet Phillips on the 1851 census at Knottisford St, Tower Hamlets, Bethnal Green, the daughter of George Phillips (weaver) and Sophia. By 1861, they are at Park St, Bethnall Green and the household is George Phillips, head, aged 39, weaver, born Spitalfields; Sophia Phillips, wife, aged 33, seamstress, born Surrey, Harriett, dau, aged 13, born Shoreditch; Thomas, son, aged 5, born Bethnal Green; Henry, son, aged 3, born St Saviours, Surrey. Harriet's mother was known to be alive in 1883 as she met the boat which brought Harriet and her family back from Australia. But yet to track Sophia on 1871 census. On 1881 census, she seems to be at Corbon Rd, Tower Hamlets, aged 60, a widow, needle woman, born Surrey with daughter Jane, aged 19, needle woman, born Surrey. There is also an Elizabeth Phillips, widow, living next door. PHILLIPS, Harriet (I1399)

THE Albert Street Methodist Church, Brisbane, was the scene of the marriage of Miss Elva Jane Aldridge, of Beaudesert, and Mr. Gregory Small of East Brisbane. The bride is the younger daughter of Mr. and Mr. J. Aldridge.
The bride wore a gown of all over lace over satin, the bodice featuring a high neck, yoke of georgette appliqued with lace, and short sleeves. The full skirt fell into a short train. The veil was of tulle, appliqued with satin lilies and held in position with sprigs of orange blossom. Her bouquet was of eucharist lilies, tuberoses and frangipani, and she wore her grandmother's century-old gold brooch.
She was attended by her sister, Mrs. Len Yates, as matron of honour, and Mr. Colin Spilsbury was best man. The couple sailed for Sydney and Melbourne in the Ormiston after the reception.
